Day in DC

So, on Friday (the 4th) Josh and I took a day trip to DC :)  We parked at Greenbelt station and took the metro down.

We started the day off in Arlington

We went to the Kennedy's graves, the tomb of the unknown soldier and on the way back to the visitors center from the tomb we heard music which happened to be a Marine marching band.  Unfortunately, when the rest of the group emerged we saw that it was a funeral.  It was a very emotional experience.

Cutest old couple EVER :)

Next, we went to lunch at this place called Ollies Trolley.  It was fine, nothing to write home about, but it did the trick.  Our next stop was the Museum of Natural History.  My favorite part was the Ocean area.  (See Dory above).  Josh had fun posing with all of the statues...

After that we headed over to the Air and Space Museum

Josh and I did the flight simulator and we kicked some ass, if I do say so myself (and the computer told us so, too!) I think he's got a career in piloting and I've got a career in shooting!

I made him pose in all of the outfits at the gift store.

I know, you're jealous because he is all mine.....or not.

Because we had some extra time, we went to the monuments too, even though we weren't really planning to.  The World War 2 is my favorite and Josh had never been! (It is still pretty new).

 He lives in MD now

 and Jersey before that.

Yes, I did actually go on this trip!

 Virginia born and raised

I went to college in VA

And that concludes our day of fun in DC!! Our next day of fun is scheduled for Sunday the 13th at the Aquarium in Camden, NJ and the Battleship New Jersey.
