Kings Dominion :)

Yesterday Josh and I went with our friends Jim and Heather to Kings Dominion.  Josh had never been on a roller coaster so we were super excited!!! We tried to make the Volcano his first coaster but it was broken down at the time :( so we went to Flight of Fear, which is ok, but not nearly as good.  There were two new coasters there this time!  The Intimidator 305 and the Dominator!!  Both were awesome!  I think the Dominator is my new favorite coaster!  It is very smooth and has some awesome turns and loops!  It fits four people per row, so we all got in the first row.  Josh and I also tried the Xtreme Skyflyer!! It was an extra cost, but totally worth it!! (I will post a picture once I get to my Moms to scan it)!

The Dominator

"Soar to new heights on Dominator. This innovative 4,210-foot steel coaster is the longest floorless coaster in the world. Fly through gut-wrenching loops, rolls and corkscrews at speeds up to 67 mph!"

The Intimidator 305

"Voted Best New Roller Coaster of 2010 by Amusement Today Magazine.

Intimidator™305, the tallest and fastest roller coaster of its type on the East Coast! Only the second Giga-coaster ever built in North America, the lift hill will stand a towering 305 feet at its highest peak; descend 300 feet at an 85 degree-angle and thunder along the track at speeds in excess of 90 miles per hour during its three minute race to the finish. This ride will have you roaring to the finish line and begging for more!

Intimidator 305 is an aggressive thrill ride which features intense elements and high speeds. Riders will experience extended periods of high G forces and negative G forces (airtime). This ride should only be ridden by those guests who are in good physical and mental condition appropriate for an aggressive thrill ride."

The Volcano

"It's the only coaster in the world to shoot you straight out of a raging volcano! Suspended from a steel track, you'll fly in and out of the rumbling mountain at speeds over 70 mph, then rocket 155 feet out of the top of the crater into a series of heart stopping inversions before a final 80-foot plummet. This is one of the world's most exciting suspended coasters!"

I was very sad to see that this coaster, Hypersonic XLC is no longer at Kings Dominion :(

This Drop Zone tower is another of my favorite rides!  Josh and Jim both got their first drop zone experience yesterday!

"The largest drop ride in North America, a 305-foot tower of thrills that promises daring riders a 272-foot descent at 72 miles-per-hour! This adrenaline-pumping adventure simulates the sensation of skydiving."

Last, me and Josh paid the extra 24$ per person to do the Xtreme Skyflyer!!

"A unique pay-per-experience thrill that provides the breath-taking combined sensations of hang gliding and sky diving."
