New Monday Thing

I have decided that on Mondays I am going to post a few quotes that I like.  It is on my Day Zero list to compile a book of my favorite quotes.  Well, I have had the book for a while now, but I have yet to get together any quotes. So,  here goes:

"It's the little moments that make life big"
- Unknown

"A gentle word, like summer rain, may soothe some hearts and banish pain
What joy or sadness often springs from just the simple little things."
-Willa Hoey

"Adopt the pace of nature; his secret is patience"
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Also, yesterday I finished reading the book "Girls in Trucks"

And have now moved on to the book "After You" by Julie Buxbaum.  So far, I LOVE this book.  I started it yesterday and I am currently more than halfway through it!

Fill in the Blank Friday

1. If my house was on fire and I could only grab 3 things I would grab picture box, purse and Mr. Bear

2. A smell I really like is Code by Armani!  My boyfriend wears it and I got it for him for Christmas because he ran out in the fall.  It broke my heart when he ran out of that stuff!

3. Something you might not know about me is that I have a half webbed toe...yeah.  Its funny looking and the first person to ever notice it and say something was my friend Kris. Until I was about 7, I thought it was normal.

4. Some of my favorite websites to putter about on are Facebook and Dayzero.  That's pretty much all I get on.

5. This weekend I will be moving, moving, working and then more moving.  We were going to go to VA Sunday to see baby Alaya, but it may not be financially possible with the bills + the new mattress that need to be paid off.

6. Nothing makes me happier than summer!  I miss you so much, summer!

7. A bad habit I have is procrastination!  I always put off things that I don't want to do.  That is what is making moving so hard for me.  I have to go through everything and get rid of stuff all at one time.  I really should start going through my clothes seasonally and I should really stop buying shoes (another bad habit)!

Happy Friday!!!

Three Things Thursday

1. SNOW

The snow and I have a love/hate relationship.  I love the snow when I am in my house with nowhere to go.  I think it is very pretty and it makes me happy.  On the other hand, when I have to go to work and shovel said snow from gas pumps and parking lots and porches, we become quick enemies!  I rather enjoyed the snow yesterday when I had off work and was able to have a nice movie/book day.  Today, however, the snow and I are not too fond of each other.  The great thing about my current store is that I have a manager who is willing to be right there with me shoveling, making it a little more fun! Thanks Tawnya!

2. MY SEMESTER OFF

At the end of my last semester in school I decided to take this spring semester off.  I was wondering for a while if it was a good decision; today I decided that it was.  I decided to change my major to Health and Fitness which meant that I was going to need to switch schools.  Since this school was not listed on my FAFSA I would not get financial aid at all for this semester. So, financially this was a great decision.  Also, I am moving out of my house into a new one and it is a little stressful and I will be worried about bills and such a lot more now, taking the semester off will relieve some of that stress.  Once I am settled in an comfortable with my financial situation, I will be much better off as far as school goes.

3. FITNESS GOALS

One of my closest friends, Vicky is getting married on June 18th!!! This means that my butt needs to get in shape to look good in a bridesmaids dress!  So far I have been OK about getting to the gym.  This snow is making it a little harder (hate), however the digging is still giving me some exercise (love).  My plan to get into shape is to go to the gym 5/6 days per week doing cardio 4 days per week and weights 5/6 days per week.  This is what I did while I was at school at James Madison U and I was in the best shape of my life at that point.   I am hoping *fingers crossed* that I can keep this up until the big day! At some point I will be posting my workout plan on this blog I just haven't decided how yet.  I also plan to do a fitness update every saturday with my weeks accomplishments listed.  I am hoping that by doing this, I stay on top of my workouts.

Congrats Vicky and Steve!

30 Day Challenge - Day 28

#28 - Something That Stresses You Out

This is where I work currently.  I hate my job and have been looking for a new one for a while.  Knowing I have to come in here stresses me out.

School. I love school but it does stress me out because I am a perfectionist and need to get good grades. I also tend to take a huge course load, so I get stressed out around exam time.

30 Day Challenge - Day 27

#27 - Pets

This is my most recent pet, Buddy.  He was by far the best dog EVER! He was so well behaved and so much fun.  I have also had 2 Gerbils (which turned into 6 when mine gave birth then turned into 4 when we gave the males to my cousin), two foxhounds named Penny and Sandy and when I was born my parents had a Springer Spaniel named Barney.

This right here is my future puppy (hopefully very near future ;) )my boyfriends dog Mika (a pit, lab mix) who I am hoping to bring to live with me sometime soon so that she is not so far away (she is currently in VA).

30 Day Challenge - Day 24

#24 - Something You've Learned

Well, in the past 2 weeks I have learned that moving is a great time to get rid of stuff you don't need/want anymore.  I have so much stuff that I haven't looked at in years and I am so glad to be getting rid of it all.

In the past month I have learned that you can save a ton of money by NOT eating at restaurants!!! I usually went out to eat 3 times per week! Now I have cut it down to maybe once every two weeks and I have saved so much money!

30 Day Challenge - Day 23

#23 - Favorite Vacation

This is a hard one for me.  A lot of the trips that I went on were considered volunteer trips, so they were not really vacations.  As far as a vacation goes, I'm going to have to say either Maine or Colorado.  I went to both in 2005.  I went to Colorado for my Uncle Steve's wedding and fell in love with the state!  I went to Maine with my youth group to go camping and hiking and I had a blast!

30 Day Challenge - Day 22

#22 - Favorite City

Toulon, France:
Town and port, capital of Var département, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur région, southeastern France. It is France’s principal naval base and has an arsenal, the most important of the Mediterranean drydocks, and shipbuilding yards. Toulon’s fine bay opens to the east. The most sheltered part, the Petite Rade and the Darse Vieille, in the west, is largely under control of the French Navy, with a well-protected anchorage. The Grande Rade, to the east, is easier of access. The Faron Mountains form an imposing backdrop to the town.
I stayed in this town during my visit to Europe in 2006.   I did a "homestay" with a lady named Miti.  She was very welcoming and easygoing. I had a great time during my stay and fell in love with the town.

<3 LOVE!!!
